about me

I’m a Bay Area native, raised with a love for bulk snacks and family time. Throughout junior high and high school, I competed extensively in speech and debate, where I learned to love in-depth research, the strategy of persuasion, and communicating simply and clearly.

After graduating, I moved to Biola University for a degree in journalism—though I changed my concentration from broadcast to writing and publishing to digital journalism along the way.

Leading the school paper and interning at a couple news organizations revealed a love for uncovering truth, but I also found joy in creating narratives with more than just words. I’ve pushed myself to pick up skills I never thought I had: design, photography and data analysis.

I’m currently working for the Fremont Police Department, optimizing all things communications and community engagement. I write about interesting cases, post to our social media and give out a lot of stickers.

When I’m not working, I’m learning as much as I can about:
* human-centered design, from websites to cities to doors.
* data for the math-averse
* communities, especially my own
